Anita C. Shannahan, 90, of Bethlehem, died April 19, 2024, at her residence in Kirkland Village. Born in Tarrytown, New York, she and was a daughter of the late Douglas A. and Mabel (Lunn) Calkins. She was the wife of the late Thomas D. Shannahan Jr.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem where she was a deacon.

She taught fifth grade for more than 22 years at Hanover Elementary School until she retired.

She volunteered at the Burnside Plantation and with Historic Bethlehem.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol A.; a son, Thomas D. III and wife Cheryl; a grandson, Ryan Thomas Shannahan; nieces; and nephews

She was predeceased by a brother; and a sister.
