Nervous parents and students were ready for the first day of school in the Parkland School District on Aug. 24.
Elementary students in the Parkway Manor Elementary School neighborhood boarded Parkland school bus No. 44 at the corner of Parkway Road and Windsor Drive, South Whitehall Township.
It would be a brand-new experience for those going to kindergarten, but even some of the older students were showing tears as their school bus departed.
Cetronia Elementary School was this reporter’s next stop where he found parents’ cars lined up to drop off their students.
Just as at Parkway Manor, mixed emotions were the norm among both students and their parents.
