A 26-year-old South Whitehall Township man has died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash in Allentown, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

Jose A. Cardona was pronounced dead at 1:40 p.m. Aug. 3 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, and the death was ruled an accident, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said.

Authorities said Cardona was operating a motorcycle that lost control and crashed, causing him to strike his head on the ground. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred about 8:20 p.m. July 31 near North Bradford and East Allen streets in Allentown.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and the Allentown Police Department.
