Falcons fall to Lower Mac, No. Parkland

The Salisbury Legion baseball team had a pair of games last week and was unable to come away with a win in either of them.

The losses left the Falcons at 1-12 this season and in last place in the Lehigh Valley Legion standings.

Lower Macungie beat Salisbury 12-2.

The Falcons’ two runs came in the fifth inning when the bottom of the lineup and the top of the lineup combined to put some runners on base.

Tyler Kehl was 1-for-2 in the game and Lucas Strickland and Colin Moll both finished the game with a walk. They all came in the fifth to load the bases with nobody out.

Brady Brinker and Levi Quiles picked up their first hits of the game to drive in runs for the Falcons, which had two hits in the first four innings and strung together three in the fifth.

What really hurt Salisbury was its defense. Four errors led to five unearned runs for the Mustangs.

In a game at North Parkland, the Buffaloes came back from an early 1-0 deficit to put a 9-2 loss on Salisbury. Tanner Kuder turned a leadoff single into a run thanks to an error and two wild pitches for the 1-0 Falcons lead in the first inning.

In addition to his 1-for-3 game with the run scored, Kuder picked up an RBI to account for the other Salisbury run. Kuder, Hunter Kotarski and Strickland all had one hit in the game.

Kotarski took to the mound in relief and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings for Salisbury.

While it might be hard to believe, the Lehigh Valley Legion regular season wraps up this week.

The Falcons have just one game remaining on the schedule and that is a game at South Parkland. The Trojans are the top team in the LVL and hold a 1 ½ game lead over second place Lower Macungie.
