The 45th annual Coplay Community Days festival is planned for Aug. 28-30. It kicks off 5 p.m. Aug. 28 and continues from noon to 9 p.m. Aug. 29 and 30.

It is a celebration of the local cement industry, particularly the former Coplay Cement Company workers. There will be music, an array of foods, dancing, friendship and time to reconnect with friends.

The Aardvarks will perform 6-10 p.m. Aug. 28. Steel Creek performs noon-4 p.m. Aug. 29, followed by the Castaway Band 6-10 p.m. Josef Kroboth Band performs noon-3 p.m. Aug. 30, followed by South Penn Dixie 6-9 p.m.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., has scheduled its Friday night concerts. The Honey Buzzards band performs Aug. 28.

The September lineup is Social Call Sept. 4, Common Bond Sept. 11, Sons of Izzy Sept. 18 and Stereotype Sept. 25.

The gate opens 5 p.m., the kitchen will open 5:30 p.m., and the band plays until 10 p.m.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is holding a bingo afternoon Sept. 27. Doors open noon.

Proceeds benefit the church to help fund 100th anniversary celebration in 2027. More information is coming.

Mark your calendar: Whitehall Lions Club’s cash bingo is planned for Oct. 4 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St. The jackpot is $200.

There will be bingo cards and five paper specials. Bingo chips, dabbers and food will be available for purchase.

There also is a basket social and a 50-25-25 cash drawing.
