Indian Creek Bridge Construction plans available online through March 16

Upper Milford Township residents have an opportunity to virtually preview an upcoming bridge project.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has plans for the Indian Creek Bridge over Leibert Creek available online through March 16.

According to a news release dated Feb. 17, the purpose of the project is to address structural deficiencies of the bridge and provide continued safe and efficient access on Indian Creek Road over the creek.

The existing dual steel pipe arch will be replaced with a precast reinforced box culvert. Shoulders of the road also will be upgraded.

The bridge will close to traffic during replacement and road construction. Access to driveways within the project limits will be maintained at all times during construction. Work is anticipated to take approximately four months.

Plans are for a 6.4 mile detour route using Pennsylvania Route 29, Lower Macungie Road and Brookside Road.
