Bath holds Coffee with the Cops event

Bath Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito held a successful Coffee with the Cops event Oct. 1 at Bath Borough Hall, 125 S. Walnut St.

Five Pennsylvania State Police Troop M officers and leaders attended the gathering. Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck was also present.

A number of residents visited during the two-hour event, which offered coffee and a variety of pastries.

The officers and Troop M Commander Seth Kelly enjoyed their interactions with residents and other Bath officers such as fire department Assistant Fire Chief Paul Connelly Jr. and borough council President Michele Ehrgott.

Reginelli-Mirabito and Kelly noted the relationship with Troop M and the borough is on solid ground. Kelly said he and his officers are very satisfied patrolling Bath and assisting the residents in any way they can.

The mayor expressed her complete satisfaction with the state police coverage in the borough. She frequently reminds residents to call the nonemergency number at 610-861-2026. She reminds the residents the state police are here to serve Bath.

At a recent council meeting, Kelly echoed the need for Bath residents when they “see something, say something.” Residents can use the nonemergency number or dial 911 for urgent calls.

“You have the best police service in the nation,” Kelly noted at the meeting.

The state police is the seventh largest police department in the United States.

The Coffee with a Cop series in Bath is an important touchpoint for the community as they are provided the opportunity to speak with their police.
