LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Great time at the fair

Celebrating 170 years, attendees at the 2022 Great Allentown Fair enjoyed fairly cloudy but dry weather for most of the Labor Day Weekend. Fairgoers did find umbrellas useful Sept. 5.

Those who explored the fairgrounds Sept. 4 participated in family-friendly contests like the Barnyard Olympics, watched local “Movers and Shakers” compete against the “Media” in the Grape Stomp Contest, and thrilled to the high wire exploits of the legendary Flying Wallendas.

Others checked out the prize-winning entries in livestock, baking, art, quilts, crafts, and other categories, climbed aboard thrill rides, and munched on cotton candy at Allentown’s annual blue ribbon event.
