Sept. 17

The second annual Alburtis Sportmen’s Flea Market will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club, 3818 Gun Club Road, Alburtis. New and used fishing, hunting and trapping equipment as well as collectibles and antiques will be available. Food will be served. Admission is a donation to Alburtis Boy Scout Troop 86. Clays, Cars and Cycles, a fundraiser benefiting the Cancer Support Community of the Lehigh Valley will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at the Rural Sportsmen’s Association, 1090 Trexlertown Road, Breinigsville. The event includes a clay pigeon shoot, car and cycle show, raffles, prizes and food and 100% of all proceeds go directly to the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley. Coopersburg Historical Society open during Coopersburg Community Day 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Coopersburg Living Memorial Park, Route 309 between Fairmount and Landis streets, Coopersburg. There is no charge.

Sept. 18

The Pioneer Band will perform a concert 1 p.m. at Jerusalem Lutheran Congregation of Western Salisbury/Jerusalem Western Salisbury United Church of Christ, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. An ice cream social will follow.

The Quarantettes, a vocal quintet formed during the pandemic, will be performing 12:30 p.m. at the Emmaus Moravian Church Pavilion, behind the Church at Keystone and Main Streets. The program will feature songs from Broadway, movies and Simon and Garfunkel. All are welcome to attend this free concert.

Fireside Chat with Township Native Paul Oswald, 7-8:30 p.m. at Longswamp Township Community Park, 1112 State St., Mertztown, Pavilion 1. Hear about the bygone days of the Longswamp area. The Emmaus Historical Society will present a program 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. The program titled, “The Circus is Coming to the Valley” will be presented by Bob Good. This program highlights the history of circuses and a few stories of those which came to the Valley. Circus memorabilia will be on display. All are welcome to attend this free event. Refreshments served immediately following the program.

Sept. 22

Free educational lecture on aortic valve stenosis at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie, 7 p.m. Have your questions answered such as, What is it? Does it produce symptoms? Who is at risk? How do we treat it? The lecture will be presented by LVHN Cardiothoracic Surgeons: Dr. Ahmed Nassar and Dr. Jeffrey Veluz. Refreshments will be provided and all ages are welcome to attend.

Sept. 23

Free family game night at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Enjoy a fun family friendly evening of board games, cards and corn hole. Bring a game, deck of cards, dominoes or anything you love and teach a neighbor a new game.

Sept. 24

The band AM Radio will perform a free concert 4 p.m. at Franko Park, 1339 Black River Road, Salisbury Township. Concertgoers may bring blankets and lawn chairs. AM Radio performs music of the 1960s and 1970s.

Sept. 25

“A Pops Concert” 2:30 p.m. at Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Ave., Northampton, where 85 musicians from the Municipal, Marine, Pioneer and Allentown bands will showcase their musical talents returning to stage after a two year hiatus during the pandemic. Everyone’s favorite tunes from Sammy Davis Jr., The Doors, Tina Turner, The Beatles, The Grease Musical and other legends will delight. The school has convenient parking and is handicap accessible. Revenue from the concert will remain in the Lehigh Valley to benefit The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton counties.

Sept. 27

Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society quarterly program – Zinc Mines in Upper Saucon Township, 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township Building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville. The program presenter is Ken Littlefield, the consulting geologist for Upper Saucon Township, where the deep mines spread over a large area between Route 309 south and the village of Friedensville. The program is free and everyone is welcome.

Oct. 1

Upper Milford Township volunteer firefighters and other area first responders will be featured noon to 3 p.m. as part of the township’s community day at the municipal center, 5671 Chestnut St. The event includes fire truck and ambulance displays and a visit by Smokey Bear.

Oct. 4

Free educational lecture on atrial fibrillation at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie, 7 p.m. Discover what happens during AFib. What are the risk factors? What are the consequences of AFib? The lecture will be presented by LVHN cardiothoracic surgeons Dr. James Wu and Dr. Timothy Misselbeck. Refreshments will be provided and all ages are welcome to attend.

Oct. 12

The Vera Cruz Halloween Parade will start 7 p.m. Organizers ask parade participants arrive by 6:30 p.m. The rain date is Oct. 13.
