Richard F. Niedermeyer

Richard F. Niedermeyer, 85, of Northampton, died Feb. 3, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Helen (Konye) Niedermeyer for 62 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Walter and Myra (Smith) Niedermeyer.

He worked for Eaton Corporation until he retired in 1996. He then worked for Willowbrook Golf Course for 22 years until 2018.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton.

He coached Little League for the Northampton Athletic Association and basketball for the Catholic Youth Organization.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Colleen Geiger and her husband Daniel and Christopher Niedermeyer; three grandchildren, Meghan Milkovits and her husband Matthew, Zachary Niedermeyer and Jacob Niedermeyer; a sister, Helen Yeager; a brother, Walter Niedermeyer and his wife MaryAnn; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Jack; and a sister, Victoria.

There will be a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m. Feb. 13 at the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067. Those in attendance will be requested to practice social distancing and wear a face cover. The Mass will also be available to livestream on the church’s YouTube channel.

Contributions may be made to the church.
