Northampton Area Public Library: Library has Teen Read Week coming up
Teen Read Week at Northampton Area Public Library will be held Oct. 8-14. Get caught reading in the library and receive a prize!
Kids can also take part in our bookmark contest.

The library’s autumn basket social will be Oct. 13 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 6 p.m., and tickets will stop being sold 7:45 p.m. Numbers will be called 8 p.m. Participants do not need to be present to win.
Tickets will be sold at the door for a cost. Buy your tickets before the day of the event at the library and enjoy a special presale price of buy three and get one free.
This year, there will be big-ticket items, a 50/50 raffle, bake sale and food for purchase.

Sign up now for our fall children’s programs for ages 10 months to fifth grade. Programs begin the week of Oct. 24.
Additionally, a family Halloween craft will be 10 a.m. Oct. 19, and Munchkin Music will be 10 a.m. Nov. 6.
Registration is required for these programs.

Our new Teen Gaming Club will meet 3:30 p.m. Oct. 25. The club will allow teens to participate in cards, tabletop games and video games.
The club meets the fourth Wednesday of each month during the school year.

A Medicare information session and an Affordable Care Act information session will be held 11 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Oct. 28, respectively. Learn the ins and outs of Medicare or learn how to navigate the public marketplace.
Registration is required.

Our Adult Escape Room event will be 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Stop the zombie apocalypse, use elements of the room, solve the puzzle and escape the room.
Space is limited, and registration is required.

Also for teens is sugar skull decorating, set for 3 p.m. Nov. 1. Celebrate Day of the Dead by coloring and decorating sugar skulls with us.

The fall book sale will be held Nov. 1-4. Children, teen and adult books, DVDs and CDs will available for purchase.
The bag sale is $3 a bag Nov. 4.
