Bath: Salem UCC to hold blueberry festival

From 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 8, Salem United Church of Christ, 2218 Community Drive, will be holding its blueberry festival. There will be music by Steel Creek Country Band, food, games, a 50-prize raffle, cake walk, bingo and a free kiddie cake walk (3:30 p.m. for children 12 and under).

Sit at the picnic tables or bring a lawn chair.

In case of bad weather, food and the raffle will be in the church 3-7 p.m.

On July 11, members of Governor Wolf Historical Society will hold their monthly meeting 7 p.m. at the society’s campus, 6600 Jacksonville Road. The public is welcome.

Additionally, the society’s museum will be open July 15 to the public from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with tours of the campus offered.

Sacred Heart Church, Northampton Street, will be holding its 87th annual picnic July 14-16, rain or shine. From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, there will be lots of food and games, as well as entertainment.

Monsignor Francis A. Nave, pastor of Sacred Heart, is observing the 25th anniversary of his ordination into the priesthood. On June 25, he celebrated a solemn Mass of thanksgiving with his fellow priests, family, friends and parishioners. Mass was followed by a reception at Northampton Banquet & Event Center. Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito, mayor of Bath, served as master of ceremonies for the reception.

The 12th annual Bikers Remembering Bikers, making “Dreams Come True,” will be held July 15 at Bath Fire Company Social Hall, 125 S. Walnut St. Bikers, hot rods - everyone is invited!

Register 11 a.m.-noon; the ride leaves 12:30 p.m.

The cost of a ticket includes food, beverages and music by the Smith Compound Band. Door prize is a three-night stay at Fountain Motel, Wildwood, N.J., for Roar to the Shore Sept. 7-9.

This ride is dedicated to fellow bikers and in memory of “Big Al” to help a child’s dream come true. All proceeds benefit Dream Come True Foundation, Blue Ridge Chapter.

The women’s group of Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, will be having a covered dish picnic in the church pavilion 6 p.m. July 18. There is a sign-up sheet in the new fellowship hall to bring a covered dish or activity and to let the group know how many are coming. All women in the congregation and friends are welcome!

Also, Emmanuel’s night at Coca-Cola Park is Aug. 11 - Lehigh Valley IronPigs vs. Charlotte Knights. Game time is 7:05 p.m., and there will be fireworks after the game.

Tickets are going fast. Deadline to sign up and pay for tickets is July 9.
