Catasauqua Column

Members of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church's Morning Glories group will be preparing and serving dinner to approx. 40 guests at the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter, located at Church of the Manger, 1401 Greenview Dr., Bethlehem, Monday, Jan. 26. Eleven churches house the men and women, sometimes families, from Dec. 1 through March 31. Dinner, breakfast and a warm place to sleep are provided. The Morning Glories are very proud to be a part of this outreach program.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, led by the Morning Glories, is also collecting needed items for Lehigh Conference of Churches Shelter. Men's items would include hats, gloves, socks, razors, nail clippers/files, tooth brushes, small toothpastes, foot powder and combs. Donations can be dropped off at the church.

The Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a half-price sale on all adult clothing and shoes from Monday, Jan. 26 through Saturday, Jan. 31. Donations of good, used, clean clothing are gratefully accepted during store operating hours. Proceeds from the Thrift Shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

The Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., Catasauqua, will hold their next all-you-can breakfast Sunday, Jan. 25 from 8 a.m. to noon. Creamed chipped dried beef on toast, scrambled eggs, toast, home fries, bacon, sausage, American (formerly French) toast, juice, coffee and tea will be served. For information call 610-266-7170.
