The Egyptian was a homespun newspaper which was printed during World War II and sent to those serving in our armed services. It was forwarded to hundreds of servicemen and women from the Whitehall Township area. Mr. Theordore F. Eberhardt was a leader in the volunteer effort. The paper was typed at the Eberhardt's Plymouth garage in Egypt.
Mr. Eric Eberhardt shared the last edition December 1945 with you, my loyal readers. Wilma Weaver of the staff said, "Our paper to you has a beginning so this December 1945 edition is the end. I trust the Egyptian has helped bring you closer to home. Welcome home, whenever it will be. So long, servicemen."
The servicemen were interested in the local sports scene. The paper printed a summary of the Thanksgiving football games. So let's go back to the memories of December 1945.
