Leaf collection, which began Oct. 20, was interrupted when the township's machine was out of service for maintenance.

Normally, leaf collection in the township is scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays in the fall. Currently, the machine is repaired and back in service and public works personnel are attempting to get caught up on disposing of leaves which have been raked to the curb.

The township office reports as long as leaves are still coming down, the crew will continue the collection.

Allentown Northeast Kiwanis Club meets at noon the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:15 p.m. at Denny's Restaurant, 1871 Catasauqua Road, Hanover Township, Allentown.

The Dec. 10 speaker will be Sara Brace from the Liberty Bell Museum.

The Pennsylvania Avenue Interfaith Food Pantry, located at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, is open on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, 6-8 p.m., making the next day Dec. 3.

The church is located at 1900 Pennsylvania Ave.

Walk-ins are welcome. The food bank is open to anyone needing assistance with feeding a family.
