State Rep. Dan McNeill, D-133, has announced his office has joined with Hartzell's Pharmacy to offer flu shots from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Hartzell's, 300 American St.

"As the flu season has begun, it's time to protect ourselves," McNeill said. "Good health habits can protect against the flu, but the best way to prevent it is to get vaccinated."

McNeill said flu shots are available to everyone 18 and older without a prescription and to those under 18 with a prescription.

While the shots are not free, many insurance programs include coverage for the shots, and those covered under Medicare Part B will not be charged. The pharmacy will bill insurance plans directly, limiting out-of-pocket expenses. Be sure to bring medical insurance cards.

The event will also include free blood sugar, blood pressure and osteoporosis screenings, plus health information.

In addition, prizes and giveaways will be awarded throughout the day and refreshments will be served.

For more information, call McNeill's office at 610-266-1273.
