At a recent birthday celebration for Matt, family members played Hues and Cues, a color-guessing board game in which players try to identify specific shades based on one- or two-word clues. The concept is simple, but the execution can be challenging.

Although not colorblind, Matt’s interpretation of color shades often differed from everyone else’s. Family members joked his color palette resembled an eight-count box of Crayola crayons. Despite the challenge, everyone enjoyed the game.

The deadline for the Oct. 7 column is Oct. 1.
