The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Major Case Team is investigating a motor vehicle crash May 1 in Salisbury Township in which two men were hurt.
The crash was outlined as follows in a press release dated May 1.
At approximately 2:24 a.m., state troopers from PSP Fogelsville attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup truck in the area of 31st Street SW and West Emmaus Avenue in Salisbury Township.
When troopers activated the lights and siren of their marked patrol vehicle, the Ford F-250 pickup allegedly “fled from the scene, at a high rate of speed, lost control and struck a tree in the 3100 block of Lindberg Avenue,” according to the press release.
Troopers immediately got out of their vehicles to help the people in the pickup truck. Those in the truck were described as two 30-year-old males, both of Allentown.
The men were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest by Cetronia Ambulance for treatment of their injuries, according to authorities.
Fish Hatchery Road at Oxford Drive and 24th Street at Lindberg Avenue were closed for the investigation following the crash.
The Troop M Major Case Team is leading the investigation.
Those assisting with the investigation include: Troop M Collision Analysis Reconstruction Specialist Unit, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company, Eastern Salisbury Fire Department, Lower Macungie Township Fire Department and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
