Residents of Weisenberg Township and surrounding communities gathered Aug. 1 to attend the celebration and grand opening of the new Weisenberg Township Community Center, 9331 Lyon Valley Road.
Master of Ceremonies was township commissioner Linda Gorgas.
Township manager Brian Carl told the residents and visitors of the impetus for the new facility was a request by a resident to open a pickle ball court.
Not only did the township open a pickle ball court, but they built a complete community center which includes basketball courts, meeting rooms and a room for local artists to display their creations.
Multiple vendors and public resource facilities were also on hand to add to the festive atmosphere.

Much of the finished woodwork at the Weisenberg Community Center was performed by Amish carpenters from Lancaster County.

Members and K-9’s of the Wolfpack Search and Recovery Team were on hand during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Weisenberg Township Community Center.
