PA Dutch Dinner and trivia night with historian Joshua Fink at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church April 19

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church

Dinner and trivia with historian Joshua Fink April 19

A “Pennsylvania Dutch Supper with Historical and Modern Trivia” will be held April 19 at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road.

The event begins 4 p.m.

Participants will gather in the chapel area of the historic church building, where they can all try their hand at answering trivia questions, both historical and modern, asked by local historian Joshua Fink.

Following trivia time, an old-fashioned supper will be served, buffet style, with traditional Pennsylvania Dutch foods.

“Main dishes such as ham, pot pie and cabbage and noodles, will be complemented by sides dishes, such as potato filling, pickled cabbage and various different breads (with optional apple butter, cottage cheese or butter).”

During supper, participants will enjoy fellowship with one another and have the opportunity to learn more about Pennsylvania German food traditions.

Because no Pennsylvania Dutch Supper would be complete without dessert, immediately following, a variety of dishes to satisfy the sweet tooth will be served, including funny cake, fruit pies, shoofly pie, ice cream and other sweet items.

Contact the church office at 610-797-4242 or email jucc3441@ptd.net to RSVP with a name and the number of people attending the event. Good fun will be had by all.

Donations will benefit the work of the church’s history committee.
