Mystic Chain Park Association hosts annual egg hunt April 4

The Mystic Chain Park Association held its annual Easter egg hunt 1 p.m. April 4.

The weather cooperated for the participants, but the almost 80 degree day was probably very hot for the Easter Bunny portrayed by Dave Mikols, who mingled throughout the crowds under the hot sun.

Families arrived early and lined up along the fenced off areas for six different age groups. Vera Cruz Fire Department Engine 2812 was present to provide the start signal for the egg hunt.

Approximately 100 children participated and collected plastic eggs filled with treats. Many were local families, but some had family visiting from other states like New York and North Carolina who joined in the event.

Children who found an egg with the letter ā€œPā€ on it earned a large chocolate bunny as a prize. However, all children received bags filled with smaller chocolate bunnies, assorted candy and rubber ducks.

The children also received a pair of bunny ears or a stuffed animal.

All items were donated to Mystic Chain Park Association for the event.

Mystic Chain Park Association President Jeff Randall organized a team of volunteers, including Upper Milford Township Supervisor Dan Mohr.

The volunteers enjoyed seeing the children happy and excited for Easter.
