State police at Bethlehem

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following:

• A 17-year-old girl from Bath is the victim of a forcible rape incident that took place at 7:50 a.m. Nov. 27, 2023, on Century Drive, Bath.

Police said the girl disclosed to a school employee she was sexually assaulted by a male she knew while she was in a vehicle in front of her residence. The victim did not want to report the incident to police, they said.

• Police are investigating a theft by deception incident that was reported to them at 12:45 a.m. Jan. 10.

A 44-year-old Coplay man told them two people set up fake profiles on Facebook, selling drag race tires to the victim for $506. Once a price was negotiated and agreed upon, the victim obtained a money order and mailed the money to a Post Office box maintained by the thieves.

Police said the people generated a fraudulent shipping label that was provided to the victim but they did not mail, ship or deliver the drag race tires. They did endorse and accept the money order.

They said the victim was blocked by the people on Facebook and was unable to recover the money.
