SALISBURY: ‘9 to 5’

Salisbury High School punches the clock with “9 to 5,” 7 p.m. March 16, 17, 18; 2 p.m. March 19, auditorium, Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., Salisbury Township.

Director Shannon O’Grady is choreographer and costume designer, assisted by Musical Director Zach Montenegro and Technical Director Chris West.

Three office coworkers, Violet, Doralee and Judy, working under oppressive conditions at Consolidated Industries, decide to rebel against their domineering and lecherous boss.

With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, the musical is based on the 1980 film of the same title by Colin Higgins and Resnick.

Opening on Broadway in 2009, the musical received four Tony Award nominations.

Notable songs include “9 to 5,” “I Just Might,” “Shine Like the Sun” and “Change It.”
