EHS softball is among top teams in EPC

With just three games left in the regular season, the Emmaus softball team has positioned itself among the top teams in the East Penn Conference.

The Hornets enter the month of May with a 14-3 overall record and a 10-2 mark in league play. When the EPC playoffs begin next week they will likely host a first-round game as one of the top four seeds in the eight-team tournament.

The team’s most recent win came against Northampton last week.

Emmaus broke open a 3-3 game with a six-run seventh inning to beat the K-Kids 9-3 on Tuesday, April 26.

Shayla Morgan (2-for-4, 2 RBIs), Danika Barthol (2-for-5, RBI, run), Kamryn Tokar (2-for-3) and Samantha Lilly (2-for-3, 2 RBIs, run) all had two hits each in the win.

Barthol pitched all seven innings for Emmaus, allowing four hits and earning two runs while striking out 13 batters and walking one.
