Public Library of Catasauqua: Celebrate World Book Day, Take a Chance Day April 23

World Book Day is celebrated April 23.

It is a United Nations holiday sponsored by UNESCO.

The aim of this celebration is to encourage people of every age, especially children and young people, to read for pleasure.

Everyone has different ideas about what they like to read. For some, it is a manual; for others, a romance. Some may enjoy a murder mystery book, yet others read a travel brochure as they look forward to their vacation.

April 23 is also Take a Chance Day, so how about taking a chance at the library to read something?

We have newspapers, magazines, fiction books and nonfiction books. We have reading materials for all ages, from the very youngest to the very oldest.

If you find holding a book difficult, then we have eBooks online for you to download for free.

Library cards are free. Borrowing a book is free. Taking part in a craft activity is free.

So come on over and celebrate World Book Day together with Take a Chance Day by coming to the library, which is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Saturday, including April 23.
