Theft by deception

Two people attempted to purchase items with a counterfeit $100 bill at Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, between Feb. 19 and Feb. 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The first attempt was unsuccessful and the customer was turned away by a store employee. A counterfeit bill was later used successfully and the fake bill was not discovered until after the customer left the store.

Retail theft

Ella Hope Salibi, 31, of Allentown, was arrested for allegedly removing close to $800 in merchandise from Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:39 p.m. Feb. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Salibi allegedly was seen by a store employee under ringing various items. Further investigation revealed an active felony warrant for a previous retail theft.

A woman was seen by a store manager allegedly placing about $100 in merchandise in a bag at a self-checkout lane in CVS Pharmacy, 3295 Route 100, Lower Macungie Township and leaving the store without paying for the items Feb. 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The woman was later taken into custody on Willow Lane.

An unknown person allegedly attempted to remove $1,200 in food from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 1:40 p.m. Feb. 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. When the theft prevention locks on the grocery cart activated the person abandoned their cart, fleeing on foot with approximately $26 worth of balloons. The suspect allegedly left the parking lot in a white Toyota Corolla.

Harassment

A 58-year-old male, of New York City, allegedly sent letters and emails daily to a former girlfriend in Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The situation was reported Feb. 28.

Three 15-year-old girls were walking on a sidewalk in the 700 block of North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:06 p.m. Feb. 25 when a silver BMW sedan pulled up next to them and the rear passenger pointed a Nerf gun at the teens and fired, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 54-year-old male, of Macungie, allegedly shoved another person at a location in the 4100 block of Woodmont Circle, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 28, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
