Charles K. Zug IV

Charles “CZ” K. Zug IV, 60, of Bethlehem, died suddenly Nov. 21, 2021, in his home. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of Dorothy M. (Mayor) Zug Taylor of Bethlehem and the late Charles K. Zug III.

He was a 1979 graduate of Liberty HS. He graduated with a degree in finance from Georgetown University.

He was an innovator with a broad range of direct growth and leadership experience in consumer and brand marketing including brands such as HomeAway, Jack Daniel’s and Southwest Airlines. He was one of the first HomeAway employees and was a vice president of marketing. He pioneered ticketless boarding passes for Southwest Airlines, now the industry standard.

He was a biker and horse racing enthusiast. He updated antique Zenith radios with Bluetooth technology.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Kathy Zug (Bill Laycock) of Hanover, N.H., and their children Eliza, Briland and Will; a brother, Marty Zug (Becky Fair) of McLean, Va., and their children Maddie, Calvin, and Amelia; and friends across the country and the world.
