Valeria M. (Sweeney) Stalsitz, 106, of Allentown, died Nov.18, 2021 in her home, surrounded by all that she loved. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Stalsitz for 67 years at the time of his death in 2009. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Margaret M. (Muringer) Sweeney.

In addition to being a homemaker all of her life, she assisted in the family business, the former Sweeney and Stalsitz Sporting Goods in Allentown.

She was a 1933 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown, where she was a receptionist until age 93.

She is survived by children, William and his wife, Dorothy (Layton), of Southern Pines, N.C., Jean and her husband, Hugh Gallagher, Christine Mack and Edward G., all of Allentown; grandchildren, Hugh, Karen, Edward, Kristin, Colleen, Sean, Janine, William, John, Erin and Megan; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by brothers, Vincent, George, Jerome and William.

Services will be 11 a.m. Nov. 23 in St. Thomas More Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. A viewing will start 10 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to “A Love for Life,” 117 N. Lincoln Ave., Newtown, 18940 to be used in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
