Bath: Turkey raffle scheduled for Nov. 20 at fire company social hall

The Bath Fire Company Social Hall, 135 S. Walnut St., will be holding a fall turkey raffle Nov. 20.

The doors will open 11:30 a.m.

There will be 25 turkeys and 15 spins. Spins include five different selections.

There will also be door prizes. You must be present to win.

Hot meals and refreshments will be available.

Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, will be holding its annual congregational meeting Nov. 21.

There will be one worship service, planned for 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall that day.

There will be light refreshments after the service, followed by the meeting.

Keystone Rod and Gun Club, 243 Mulberry St., will be having a block shoot/meat raffle 1-5 p.m. Nov. 21.

Bring 12 or 20 gauge or use a club gun. Shells will be provided.

The kitchen will be open, and family-friendly refreshments will be available.

There will be a community Thanksgiving service 7 p.m. Nov. 24 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 2715 Mountain View Drive.

Emmanuel Church’s Sunday school will be hosting an Advent festival Nov. 28, following the 10 a.m. celebration service.

Activities will include a Bible lesson, making an Advent wreath and viewing an Advent video, making a snack and playing games.

The Lions Club of Bath will host an inaugural candy cane hunt Nov. 28 behind St. John’s Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main St.

There will be three hunts: ages 3-5 will be 3-3:05 p.m.; ages 6-9 p.m. will be 3:15-3:20 p.m.; and ages 10-12 will be 3:30-3:35 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded for most collected candy canes, and a prize will be given for finding the candy cane with the golden ribbon. All prizes are per age group.

Registration is required. To register, provide the child’s name and age to bathpalions@yahoo.com. Registration will end Nov. 22.

There is no charge to attend the event; however, donations to the Lions Club are appreciated.

This event is subject to cancellation for inclement weather.

Emmanuel’s Church is once again having its mitten trees.

The church is collecting mittens, scarves, hats and gloves for local schoolchildren in need in kindergarten through 12th grade, so all sizes are needed.

Place your donations on the trees before the end of November. The trees have been set up in the upstairs gathering area, fellowship hall and old fellowship hall.

Bath firefighters will once again have a Santa Run, for borough of Bath residents only, Dec. 18, starting 9 a.m.

The firefighters ask for a $10 donation per home.

Gift drop-off dates are 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 22 and 29 and Dec. 6 and 13.

The deadline to drop off gifts is Dec. 13.

On the gift, include the child’s name, age, contact number and address. There is a maximum of two gifts per child.
