Roy M. Vogel, 85, died Nov. 12, 2021, at Valley Manor Rehabilitation and Care Center, Coopersburg. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara L. (Rakos) Vogel, for 41 years until her death in 2011. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Hilda P. (Posch) Vogel.

He graduated in the Class of 1954 from Coopersburg High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 32 years where he was a ground support technician and worked on the electrical systems of planes at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. He retired in 1994, holding the title of Master Sergeant.

He honored God and his country with the life he lived. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Coopersburg.

He is survived by a sister, Elleen Rinker, of Coopersburg; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Zweifel.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Catholic Charities Ecumenical Soup Kitchen and Chew Street Community Center, 179 W. Chew St., Allentown, 18102.

Calling hours will be held 9 a.m. Nov. 18 until the Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated 10 a.m., all at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 5050 St. Josephs Road, Coopersburg. Arrangements are entrusted to the Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
