Donald E. Mabus, 90, formerly of Emmaus, died Oct. 27, 2021, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Joan F. (Meyers) Mabus. The couple would have celebrated 65 years of marriage Jan. 19, 2022. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stanley and Nora (Ortt) Mabus.

He was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1950 and was a member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, Emmaus.

He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown.

He was employed for 19 years at Western Union in Allentown, until the warehouse closed in 1988.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Daniel A. and his wife, Julie; a daughter, Deborah L.; granddaughters, Tabitha Rachel and her husband Austin Pinckney, Abigail, Rebekah and Serenity; two great-grandsons. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Harold and Richard.
