LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Harvest Fest welcomes fall downtown

Historic Downtown Bethlehem’s Harvest Fest was well underway by 11:30 a.m. Oct. 2. The fall weather was gorgeous and temperate. Main Street was blocked off from traffic and the crowds filled the sidewalks and meandered in the street.

Food vendors in trucks or trailers were open as were regular brick and mortar eateries and bars.

Seasons Olive Oil and Vinegar Tap Room was open. The establishment also had a table set up on the sidewalk where Ana Balsh and Diane Spironello were handing out samples to people who had purchased a ticket that gave them entry to several similar sidewalk tables where businesses were passing out samples of their food and drink.

Lisa Davis, owner of The Rustic Project in Bethlehem, was selling handmade signs for every occasion or whimsical sentiment.

Musicians were performing in at least three locations on Main Street.

Honey & Nutz (Justine Williams and Brett Andrews) set up their equipment just beside the main entrance to the historic Hotel Bethlehem. Williams was the vocalist, and Andrews was vocal and guitar. Williams is unique in that she also sings with two other local bands: Hunkajunk and Smith Compound Band.

Pentley Holmes of Easton was singing and playing guitar at the Colonial Section near the Bethlehem Hotel. Yes, Holmes is related to boxing legend, Larry Holmes, who is Pentley’s uncle.

Up the street Kyle Yankowy was doing a solo number. He was singing and accompanying himself with his guitar.

All three guitarists in the three separate locations were using C. F. Martin acoustic guitars.
