PHS baseball win streak ends at 10

With the regular season winding down, the Parkland baseball team is looking to get into position for a playoff run.

After losses to Nazareth and Freedom this week ended a 10-game Parkland win streak, the Trojans (13-3 overall; 12-1 East Penn Conference) have four games remaining on the schedule before they embark on league and then district playoff runs beginning with EPC postseason next week.

In Monday’s loss to Nazareth, Parkland took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning before surrendering two runs to the Blue Eagles in the fourth inning. The Trojans had just two hits in the game while committing five errors. Luke Meehan and Jacob Donmoyer had Parkland’s hits.

Parkland beat Pocono Mountain West last week, downing the Cardinals 16-4 in five innings.

Parkland had nine hits in the win as Bo Barthol (2-for-3, 5 RBIs, 3 runs) was the only Trojan with more than one hit. Teammates Taiki Horiguchi (3 runs, RBI), Blake Barthol (RBI, run), Bryce Ratliff, Matthew Razzis, Jesse Ruisch (2 runs, 2 RBI), Anthony Madero and James Miskanic (2 runs) all had one hit each in the win.

Pitchers Owen DeLong, Owen Lehr, Bo Barthol and Sean Rivera combined to allow just two hits against Pocono Mountain East as Lehr earned the win.

Results from Tuesday’s game against Freedom and Saturday’s 10-7 win over Central Catholic were not received by the Press.
