Ricky J. Smith, 66, of Walnutport and formerly of Allentown, died Oct. 24, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Paul R. and Evelyn Mae (Lavar) Smith.

He was the grounds foreman at the former Allentown State Hospital 1971-2006.

He is survived by three children, Michael A. with Erica of Allentown, Lisa M. with Joshua of Walnutport and Eric J. with Arielle of Coplay; a companion, Elaine M. Kirchner, with whom he resided; a former wife, Deborah A. Smith of Allentown; three siblings, Rodney Smith with Sandra of Macungie and Mark Smith with Sharon and Elaine Beller, all of Slatedale; a sister-in-law, Judith Smith of Center Valley; Elaine’s two children, Mel Hein with Marsha of Danielsville and Christine Hein with Steve of Walnutport; and 13 grandchildren, Alexa, Jonathan, Vincent, Cason, Theodore, Ethan, Samantha, Cody, Corey, Mason, Shane, Aundrea and Zackary.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Jamie Lynn Smith; a granddaughter, Alana; and a brother, Timothy P. Smith.

Services will be private.
