LOWER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

At the July 16 Board of Commissioners meeting, there was a conditional use hearing for the proposed used car lot for Ciocca Properties.

This proposed lot is located along Route 222 and Interstate 78 where the Bieber Bus Terminal and the Charcoal Drive-In were located.

This lot will only have automobiles parked there. The lot is considered a certified used car lot. There will be no auto repair work done there so the noise from the area will be minimal.

The lighting will not be similar to the Subaru lot. Lighting will be not as bright and will be dimmed at later hours in the night. No additional buildings will be added to the area.

The existing building will be used with modifications. Signage was also discussed.

A macadam walking path is also to be added along Kressler Road to Hamilton Boulevard. Landscaping for the area was also discussed.

In other business, an extension of time was requested for the U-Haul and Shepherd’s Corner development. The commissioners approved the extension.

A revision was requested for the Taco Bell development. It has been determined a double drive-thru is needed as it is evident this is a necessity through this pandemic situation.

A 1997 John Deere tractor with a flail mower was put up for bid. The tractor mower was worth $12,550 and the highest bid received was for $7,500.

There was an executive session about potential litigation and land acquisition.
