North Catasauqua: Lions Club holiday meal will be held Dec. 1

Seniors who reside in North Catasauqua and Catasauqua or who belong to a church or organization in North Catasauqua or Catasauqua are invited to the 30th annual holiday meal 11:45 a.m. Dec. 1 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua.

The meal, hosted by the Catasauqua Lions Club, is free, but reservations are encouraged.

Register at the Catasauqua or North Catasauqua borough halls, or call Joe at 610-264-4130 and leave a message if no one answers.

Now is your chance to enter the 12th annual North Catasauqua small Town USA holiday home decorating contest.

Deadline to enter is 4 p.m. Dec. 4. Judging will take place Dec. 12, weather permitting.

The contest is free to enter. Enter your own home, a neighbor’s home or your favorite small Town USA holiday display.

All winners and participants will have their home part of the 2018 small Town USA holiday lights self-tour and will be published in The Press.

Prizes range from $25 to $75 in retail and restaurant gift cards for first-, second- and third-place homes and framed photos of the two winning homes.

The contest is sponsored by the North Catasauqua Betterment Committee.

Don’t forget to sponsor a holiday snowflake to adorn the streets of North Catasauqua during the holidays.

There is a limited number available this year.

Individuals, families, groups, organizations or businesses can sponsor a holiday snowflake. This offer is available to residents, nonresidents and former residents.

It makes a unique gift or to remember someone and sponsor a snowflake in their name. A plastic plaque will be attached to a snowflake with the name of the sponsor.

The North Catasauqua Betterment Committee will pay the cost for the electric drop connection from PPL Utilities to light each new snowflake added.
