A tree lighting will be held 4:30-5:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Kreidersville Covered Bridge.

Highlights of the event include baked goods, hot chocolate, sing-along caroling, a bonfire and even a special visit from Santa.

For those who made reservations for breakfast with Santa at Zion Stone United Church of Christ, 51 Church Road, Kreidersville, the event occurs 9 a.m. Dec. 9.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Kreidersville, will hold a Christmas cookie sale and holiday variety shop Dec. 9.

Christmas cookie shoppers may select their own cookie assortments from the many varieties made by members of the congregation. The sale runs 9-11 a.m. or until sold out.

The holiday variety shop also starts 9 a.m. and features new and gently used holiday items - cards, wrapping, decorations, tree ornaments and crèches - as well as household articles, collectibles and children’s items. Variety shop items will be offered at half price 11 a.m.-noon.
