Bethlehem Township-Tooth fairy visits National Night Out

National Night Out, held on the first Tuesday of August, is a chance for police and other first responders to get together with the local residents they serve and show them that they all care.

Bethlehem Township has one of best of these community gatherings at its municipal park. In addition to a moon bounce, water slide and all kinds of educational exhibits, there’s also plenty of free food donated by area businesses and restaurants for a crowd of nearly 1,000 people. But the star of the night would have to be the tooth fairy, who flew in before she started work that evening to hand out toothbrushes and pencils to area children.

In addition to numerous Bethlehem Township police officers, firefighters with Nancy Run Fire Co. and Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Co. provided demonstrations. Pink Heals, a firefighter organization promoting women’s health, was also present.

Two Nancy Run volunteer firefighters are perched aloft National Night Out, thanks to the 100-foot ladder extension on newly acquired Engine No. 24.
