Northampton Column

June is National Trails Month with Saturday, June 6, being designated as National Trails Day. To promote area trails, Lehigh Township Rails to Trails will be having displays in area libraries to provide information about these trails.

The display will be at the Northampton Area Public Library, 1615 Laubach Ave., May 26-June 1. Members of LTRT will be available to discuss the current status of and future work on area trails Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Trail maps will be displayed, and brochures concerning a variety of trails will be available.

Quota International of Northampton is selling vouchers for trays of bedding flowers/vegetables or 10-inch flowering hanging baskets from Hickory Grove Greenhouses.

Vouchers are redeemable May 1-31. Contact Nikol Tews at 610-440-2171 for details.

Also, Quota is sponsoring a pancake breakfast Saturday, May 2, at Applebee's, off Catasauqua Road, Allentown.

The breakfast is 8-10 a.m., and tickets must be purchased in advance.

St. John's Friendly Fifties will meet in the church's social hall, 1343 Newport Ave., Monday, May 11, 1 p.m. The Good Shepherd School choir will entertain.

Assumption BVM Church, 22nd Street and Washington Avenue, will hold a basket fair on May 16 and 17.

Tickets will be sold at the door.

You can browse and make your basket choices on Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The drawings will begin at 3 p.m. You do not need to be present to win.

Food will be available to purchase both days.
