Swimmers sweep Eastburg South
Northampton swimmers pulled off a sweep of East Stroudsburg South last Thursday.
The girls won 76-18 while the boys came away with a 62-30 victory.
Gavyn Frankenfield, Michael Bauer and Kaden Chambers were all double-winners for the boys. Frankenfield won the 200 IM in 2:15.88 and also took the 500 free in 5:35.93. Bauer won the 50 free and 100 free with times of 24.10 and 55.02. Chambers was a winner in the 100 fly in 57.88 and also won the 100 back with a time of 1:03.86.
Steton Weber was also a winner, taking the 200 free in 2:05.86.
All three NHS boys relay teams collected victories as well. The 200 medley team had a winning time of 1:22.07 and was made up of Bauer, Chambers, Weber and Josh Millan. The 200 free relay won in 1:41.05 and was made up of Chambers, Jared Iasiello, Bauer and Frankenfield. Also winning was the 400 free relay team in 3:53.53. That team was made up of Frankenfield, Jarin Gaumer, Millan and Weber.
On the girls side, Rachel Pursell and Brynn Delvecchio were double-winners.
Pursell won the 200 IM in 2:32.86 and also took the 500 free in a time of 5:41.16. Delvecchio took the 50 free in 27.14 and also won the 100 back in 1:09.10.
Other winners for the girls were Annalise Christy, Kelly Thoma and Morgan Fehnel. Christy won the 200 free in a time of 2:18.10. Thoma took the 100 fly in 1:10.73 and Fehnel touched first in the 100 breast in 1:22.29.
Like the boys, all three relay teams won for the girls. The 200 medley team timed in at 2:10.38 and was made up of Delvecchio, Fehnel, Pursell and Kaitlin Nemes. The 200 free team of Delvecchio, Alexis Frey, Christy and Thoma won in 1:58.97 and the 400 free relay team of Thoma, Nemes, Christy and Pursell had a winning time of 4:21.72.
