Lacrosse is also looking forward to expansion for 2015.
With only six weeks left to the start of PIAA sports, Northampton Area Youth Lacrosse is looking forward to its growth for 2015. The high school program is still under the leadership of the youth club and will continue its third season in the PIAA with boys and girls teams.
The club will continue to grow the youth program with U9 and U11 boys. They also will be fielding a girls grades 3/4 with plans to expand into a grades 5/6 program. Plans are in the works to also add a boys U15 and girls grades 7/8 program.
If there are enough players for both the girls and boys middle school ages, this would place the club one year ahead of its projected plans.
President, Mark Gutekunst said, "The response from the community has been overwhelming. The youth feeder program is the heart and soul of our future High School program. Our plan has always been to develop the boys and girls from the age of 8 or younger through to the high school, as one club. The coaching staff is excited to see what the class of 2023 can do."
