Area residents are invited to enjoy a self-guided tour of North Catasauqua homes, decorated for the holidays. Enjoy the holiday lights and displays of small Town USA from the warmth and comfort of your own car.

Tour around North Catasauqua and view the winners of the 2014 North Catasauqua Holiday Home Decorating Contest and also the light displays of North Catasauqua Borough and homes. Tour as fast or as slow as you want. The 2014 North Catasauqua small Town USA Holiday Food Drive continues. Residents are invited to bring donations of nonperishable food to the collection box now through Jan. 9 in the hallway of the borough hall. This food drive is sponsored by the North Catasauqua Betterment Committee for the Catasauqua Community Food Bank. Donate items such as canned goods, toiletry items, diapers, paper goods including toilet paper and paper towels, soaps, laundry detergents, juices, baby food, cereals, rice, sugar, flour, crackers and, pastas.

North Catasauqua Borough Hall offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26.

Although the borough luminary night was held last weekend, luminary kits are still available for purchase at North Catasauqua Borough Hall during regular business hours, for those who wish to put them out for Christmas or New Year's Eve.

Luminary Kits are $10 and include 10 bags, 10 candles, sand for the bags, and instructions. The sale benefits the North Catasauqua We Sing! Community Chorus.

The We Sing Chorus and borough betterment committee are now offering limited edition Cat's Meow wooden keepsakes representing St. Andrew's Church. The painted image of the church includes a history of the church on the back of the keepsake.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have 50-percent off Christmas items sale through Dec. 23. The thrift shop will be closed for Christmas Vacation from Dec. 24 until Jan. 3. The store will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5.

Donations of good, used clean clothing are gratefully accepted during store hours. Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
