Northampton had a a cross country meet against Allen, Dieruff, and Central Tuesday.
It was senior day and the team had three seniors honored: Noah Durnin, Andrew Martuscelli, and Justin Nikles.
The boys went 2-1 on the day, defeating Allen and Dieruff but falling to Central. Noah Rindock (17:25) and Justin Nikles (17:41) both had big days finishing fifth and seventh overall.
Lucas Yost was the team's third runner in 18:23 and Andrew Martuscelli was the fourth runner in 18:26. The top-five was rounded out with Noah Durnin at 19:35. Evan Yost (19:46) and Gabe Reichenbach (21:02) both had personal best times. The boys record is 3-7.
The girls had a good day going 3-0 and raising their record to 7-3. Joelle Perelli (19:08) and Lyndsey Gallagher (19:09) went first and second overall in the meet. Perelli's time was a new school record, according to head coach Dan Benner. It's also a career best time for both girls.
Jessica Hendricks ran well in finishing seventh overall at 21:00. Carly Hein had her best career race in 22:04, finishing fourth for the team and 11th overall. Olivia Cappolella (22:12) and Brooke Ingram (22:20) were fifth and sixth for the team in personal best times as well. The personal best times kept up with the seventh and eighth runners, which were Beth Albright (22:39) and Robyn Franke (22:54).
Next week the team makes the long voyage up north to face East Stroudsburg North and South.
