Spilling out

Water cascades from a line at a fire hydrant at Front and Lehigh streets, Hokendauqua, into a bright blue plastic container, overflowing onto the macadam street. The flowing water recently caused motorists at the intersection to stop and look. Northampton Borough Municipal Authority officials said they were flushing the lines in conjunction with a major project in the area.
