Fire Calls

Sept. 23

· Station 35 fire police assisted police with traffic control at Main and West streets, 8:58 a.m.

· A motor vehicle accident with injuries on Chestnut Street, west of MacArthur Road, brought out Stations 35 and 39, 4:41 p.m.

· Stations 36 and 37 responded to a report of smoke in the building at Forman Mills, 2150 MacArthur Road, found to be an overheated elevator pump, 6:45 p.m.

Sept. 24

· A reported gas line struck in the area of the Susquehanna Bank on Mickley Road, found to be a line scraped by a workman, no leak, brought out Stations 36 and 37, 9:19 a.m.

· A fire alarm at 122 N. Seventh St., (all fire alarms activated, found to be a basement detector malfunction), brought out Stations 36 and 37, 10:14 a.m.

· A reported chemical smell from the apartment building at 958 Sixth St., found to be cleaning supplies, brought out Stations 35, 36 and 37, 9:32 p.m.

Sept. 25

· A motor vehicle accident with a spill and cleanup on Route 22 westbound and eastbound with a car and a 10-wheeler truck, brought out Stations 35 and 36, 5:44 a.m.

· Station 36 responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries and spill on Route 22 eastbound at the Lehigh River Bridge, 5:30 p.m.

· Stations 36 and 40 responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries and rescue at Catasauqua Road and Pershing Boulevard, 7:05 p.m.

Sept. 26

· A reported fire alarm pull station at Rite-Aid, 2108 MacArthur Road, checked the building and no problem, brought out Stations 36 and 37, 2:17 a.m.

· A reported possible dwelling fire at 4173 Roosevelt St., found to be dew burning off the roof from the sun, brought out Stations 35, 36, 39 and 40, 7:55 a.m.

· A reported tree and wires on fire at 5151 Lincoln St. brought out Stations 39 and 40, 8:47 a.m.

Sept. 28

· A complaint about a chemical odor outside of 359 Hawthorn Drive, found to be spraying of Chem-Green fertilizer, brought out Stations 36 and 37, 1:13 p.m.

· Station 37 responded to a car into a building at 123 Orchard Drive with injuries and small spill, 4:16 p.m.

Sept. 29

· Stations 35, 36 and 37 investigated an odor at a vacant house at 811 Third St., found to be paint fumes, 9:37 a.m.

· Stations 35, 36 and 37 responded to a fire alarm at 83 Gallagher Road, found to be a cooking accident, 1:59 p.m.

· A motor vehicle fire on Chestnut Street in the parking lot of the Red Barn brought out Stations 35, 39 and 40 and fire marshal investigative team, 11:06 p.m.
