Along with Bill's Lunch and the Wachovia building, the former Santee's auto repair shop is up for sale.
The attractive and clean repair shop at Second and Center streets will be missed by those who brought their vehicles there for maintenance and repairs. Buddy Santee was at the helm of the business for years. Before that, his dad, a longtime borough fire chief, ran the business.
The bank, which has been on the market for the last several years, now sports a "for rent" sign. Many are wondering why no new tenant is occupying the colonial style structure.
Bill's Lunch, Sodl's and Hilltop also remain unoccupied but no signs indicate these businesses or buildings are for sale. Known for its hot dogs and steak sandwiches, Bill's Lunch was busy during breakfast hours and offered platters and daily specials for its patrons.

Some alleys in the borough are experiencing a higher amount of traffic than expected for narrower roads. Those living in the neighborhood near the north-south alley between Third, Fourth and Hall streets have witnessed near collisions involving children in the area.
What makes this particular stretch of macadam busier than some alleys is that motorists use the alley as a shortcut to and from Chestnut Street and, in some cases, the Giant food store.
In Northampton, the borough for years has posted stop signs at alley intersections. In Coplay, officials previously have said traffic counts don't warrant stop signs. Residents have said they hope no serious accidents occur.

You know spring is really here when the din of lawn mowers is heard all across town.
Double that with borough crews becoming busier Fridays collecting yard waste. Tree branches are also picked up at no extra cost.
Every Thursday recycled materials, such as paper, cans and plastic products are picked up.
