The next Upper Lehigh Lions Club breakfast is scheduled for 8 a.m.-1 p.m. March 10, at the Schnecks-ville Fire Hall.
Breakfasts have been the longest continuous fundraiser for the club.
In 1968, the Upper Lehigh Lions had a pancake and sausage supper at the old Schnecksville Fire Hall, now Tom Hall's auction center.
I remember going to that event. It was something new and different in those days.
The meal was soon shifted from supper time to breakfast and has continued ever since.
Proceeds form the breakfasts are directed to community needs. The Lions have just pledged $3,500 to NOVA for radios for the new ambulance.
Other recent beneficiaries include Pa. Lions Eye Research and the Parkland Drum Line.
The club is inaugurating a project to raise money for additional medical equipment for use by local residents.
There are beautification plans underway for the Gateway to Schnecksville garden at Routes 309 and 873.
