Lehigh Valley Beekeepers Association recently honored Lehigh Carbon Community College for its support of beekeeping and beekeepers in the Lehigh Valley.
LCCC President Donald W. Snyder was on hand to accept the award from beekeepers association President Steve Finke of Kutztown, as well as to offer the facility's continued support of the various beekeeper programs held on campus.
The college grounds are home to the association's apiary, which is used for hands on educational training for new and seasoned beekeepers throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons.
This campus training site for beekeepers is unique among the beekeeping organizations through Eastern Pennsylvania.
The beekeepers association was formed in 1921 and has more than 150 members from a multi-county region.
Monthly meetings are free and open to the public.
