The South Parkland 110-pound A team shut out the Lower Macungie Mustangs 24-0 under the lights at Mustang Field in a non-league game on Monday night.

The Trojans offense struck early when Vincent Gerbasio hooked up with Trent Perkins for a 64-yard touchdown pass on the second play of the game. On the Trojans second possession, JT Siggins took a hand-off from Gerbasio and raced 22-yards for a touchdown.

In the second half, Tanner Lewis connected with Mason Holaka on a 52-yard touchdown pass. Ryan Zolotsky closed out the Trojan scoring by returning an interception 48 yards for a touchdown. The Trojan ground attack was led by running backs Jered Fenstermaker, Siggins, Richard Kerrick, Ryan Hoffman, Zolotsky, Evan Kopenhaver, Jared Mickley, Jack Perkins, John Hohenshilt and Asher Reede.

In recording its fifth shutout of the season, the Trojan defense held the Mustang offense in check all night. The Trojan defense was led by Kerrick and Gerbasio, who each had eight tackles; Mason Bergstein, who had seven tackles and a fumble recovery and Fenstermaker and Bryan Bertsch, who each had five tackles. The Trojan secondary Gerbasio, George Hlavac, Nick Johnston, Bertsch, Zolotsky and Devin Yeomans did an outstanding job shutting down the Mustang passing game, holding Lower Macungie to two completions on 11 attempts for nine total yards.

South Parkland didn't have an answer for a speedy Steelers team and were shut out on Sunday.

Defensively, Gabriel Ramirez and Lucas Farabaugh teamed up for a fumble that was recoverd by Michael Boscia. Ramirez and Jake McLean led the team with three tackles each. On offense, Boscia ran for 28 yards and Farabaugh added another 18.
