Honda Radar Sensor Thefts

The Bethlehem Police Department is alerting residents to a recent series of thefts involving driver-assistance radar sensors from behind the Honda “H” emblem on the front grille of newer Honda vehicles. The thefts have been reported most frequently in the Center City area, with additional incidents reported in the Southside Business District and West Bethlehem.

Take a few precautions:

• Park in well-lit areas whenever possible.

• Choose parking locations covered by surveillance cameras, including residential or business security systems.

• When practical, park in a garage or position your vehicle to limit access to the front grille.

• Be alert for suspicious individuals approaching or tampering with the front of parked vehicles.

• Consider speaking with your Honda dealership about available anti-theft protection for your vehicle’s radar sensor.

If your Honda’s front emblem or grille appears damaged or missing, or you suddenly notice multiple driver-assistance warning lights, your radar sensor may have been tampered with or stolen. Have the vehicle inspected by a qualified technician.

Anyone with information about these thefts, or surveillance or dash camera footage showing suspicious activity, is asked to contact the Bethlehem Service Center at 610-865-7000 or email kswider@bethlehem-pa.gov

Please remain vigilant, report suspicious activity, and help us spread the word to other Honda owners in our community.
